A Leased Line is a more costly service than ADSL.
10. Can a single connection be shared among a number of PCs?

Yes, a single connection can be shared by more than single PCs at the same time. However, an interconnecting device, such as a hub or a switch is required.

11. What is the level of quality of service? What will be the maximum downtime?

The quality of service depends upon the distance of the subscriber from the exchange. We will try and keep the downtime to minimum.

12. Will it get disconnected every now and then as in a Dial-up connection?

No, the connection will not get disconnected every now and then.

13. Is it better than the services provided by other service providers through cable in terms of cost and quality?

Unlike a cable modem, ADSL gives you a dedicated line to the Internet. With cable modems, you are using a shared line with all the other users in your neighborhood. One of the strengths of phone providers is their small number of service outages per year, something cable companies cannot claim.
Even if the power goes out, you will still be able to make phone calls. Unlike cable modems, your connection speed will not be affected by how much bandwidth your neighbors use.

14. How long it will take to restore the service if, at all, it is hampered due to some reasons?

We will try and restore the service within a couple of hours.

15. Whom should I contact in case there is a service problem? Do you have any call centres?

You should contact the help desk available 24 hours on the contact number 1500, which is a call center number for the ADSL Service.

After the booking is done and the payment is made, the ADSL service will be made available to the user within 48 hours.

17. Where to get the forms for booking an ADSL connection?

Call 1500. Leave your telephone number and address with the operator. Concerned MTNL staff will come to your premises for booking the ADSL connection.
