Account Card Calling Services


Account calling service allows customers to make a call from any phone of MTNL (Mumbai & Delhi) to any destination - local, national or international, even using the phone without STD/ISD facility.

All ACC calls are preceded by the access code 160422. After dialing the access code, the customer is prompted to enter the prepaid account card number and PIN . The user dials his/her account card number and PIN for validation and the numbers give the unique identification of the subscriber, after the authentication check, the customer is prompted to dial the destination number. The User Can make calls only if he has a credit balance in his card account.

Access Procedure

Dial Access Code: 160422, Followed by 8 digit card Number, followed by 4 digit PIN, Followed by Destination Number

Card number : XXXXXXXXXX (8 digits)

Charging

Call charges are debited from the pre-paid account of the card subscriber only. No bill generated for the Account card calls.

Toll Free Service

Toll Free Service (TFS) provides your potential customers with a 'free' and convenient way to contact you. The charges for using this Toll Free number are paid by you instead of your potential customers. Avail this service to attract more and more customers to your business.

Features and Facilities

  • Reverse charging: Caller can call the TFS number free of charge.
  • Call Forwarding: The service has the facility of re-routing the incoming calls to an alternate number if TFS subscriber's line is busy or no answer.
  • Time dependent routing The service enables the TFS subscriber with one TFS number to have several telephone installations in the network and specify flexible routing or different call treatments depending upon time, day, date and holiday.
  • Origin dependent routing : TFS subscribers can have several installations (or several Telephone numbers) and can specify flexible routing depending upon the area of origination of incoming calls.
  • Accessibility: This service is accessible from networks of MTNL,BSNL and other local Telecom operators.

Premium Rate Service

Premium Rate Service (PRM) is a telephone service that provides recorded information or live conversation for callers. Callers are charged a higher rate than the normal calls, which is then split between the service provider (content provider) and the network operator (MTNL). The MTNL allocates a special number to the service provider, which is known as premium rate number, that number can be accessed from MTNL (Mumbai & Delhi) phones.

 

Features and Facilities

  • The service enables Professionals and Information Providers to offer advice /consultation, forecast in any field, fortune telling, share market consultation, job consultation and information on sports etc. using telecom network which is the fastest means of communication.
  • The service provider (Professionals) is allotted a PRM service number by the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (Network Operator) and this number can be accessed by telephone subscribers /information seekers of MTNL (Mumbai & Delhi) through STD phones only irrespective of the location of the Information Provider.
  • For this service, the call charges which are to be borne by the calling user are at a higher rate and hence the name 'Premium Rate'. The revenue earned by the MTNL (Network Operator) is shared between the Service Provider and MTNL.
  • For the same PRM service number the PRM subscriber can have a number of destination numbers and the call will automatically be routed to those numbers by the Intelligent Network (IN) switch. This service also provides time dependent routing which enables the PRM subscriber to have several installations in the network and specify flexible routing of calls depending upon time, day, date, holiday etc.
  • It also provides location dependent routing whereby subscribers can have several installations (several directory numbers and can specify flexible routing depending upon the area of origination of calls.
  • Premium rate can work on the city of subscription only
  • This service is accessible from MTNL Mumbai & Delhi Network

Access Procedure

The user can make a premium rate call by dialing: 0900 22 XYYY ; where: 

Access code = 0900 , Premium Rate Number = XYYY ( 4 digits) 
Where X = 1 means 2 sec Pulse rate 
= 2 means 3 sec Pulse rate 
= 3 means 4 sec Pulse rate 
= 4 means 8 sec Pulse rate 
= 5 means 12 sec Pulse rate 
30 sec Pulse rate is also available. 
'YYY' from 500 to 999 
'X' will be chosen by the Service (content) provider.

Access No. : 1900 22 XXXX for Local Numbers with 15/30 sec Pulse rate.

  • Monthly Charges for PRM service number (payable in advance): Rs. 800/-

Virtual Private Network


As the name suggests a Virtual Private Network is imaginary network within a real network, i.e. it gives the service user the feeling of in-house connections to any destination within MTNL Mumbai Landline network. VPN service is best suited for corporate and consortia having significant traffic between their corporate sites to configure and use switched carrier circuits as if they are their dedicated private lines

Corporate and business houses can subscribe to VPN service i.e. they can have their own VPN network by utilizing the existing telephone lines or by taking new telephone connections. Telephone connections put on VPN network can also be used as normal telephone connections.

  • VPN subscribers can have extension dialing facility by becoming a member of VPN .
  • There is no need for VPN subscribers to take leased lines between their locations.
  • VPN subscribers can have their own private numbering plan.
  •  Facility exists to change the associated Landline number to an extension either on temporary or permanent basis.
